Cortinarius 'cortina'

If you see a mushroom with a cob-webby veil, then you know you have a Cortinarius. (Though not all Cortinarius species have a 'cortina' or a veil of any kind). The cortina is typically short-lived and dissapears as the cap expands. Sometimes you can see remaims of it on the gills of cap margin.
