Russia 2012

We took a river cruise from St Petersburg to Moscow in May this year. After three nights in St Petersburg, the ship travelled along rivers,
lakes and canals all the way to Moscow, a distance of 1150 miles, passing through 18 locks, and rising 196 metres on the way. Along the way
we stopped to visit the Monastery at Kirillov, the towns of Yaroslavl and Uglich, before docking for a final four nights in Moscow, from where
we also visited the beautiful Monastery at Sergiev Posad. I had visited Moscow a couple of times before (on business trips), the first time
in 1977, but this time, at some leisure, was rather different and most enjoyable.

I took the cruise at the end of May, a couple of weeks after you did. It seemed that you even had nicer weather than I did. 3 days the rain was so heavy, that they cancelled our visit to the captain's deck. Marvellous collection of photos you have. Congratulations ! ~V~
