Thorny Devils

Australian wildlife photos
Thorny Devil - Ngiyari - thorny dragon - thorny lizard ( Moloch horridus )

These little guys are actually quite harmless. We came across a few of these Thorny Devils on the road in Central Australia - potential roadkill!
They are not particularly fast moving, rather mechanical and in addition to their thorns and false second head they also rock back and forth to confuse predators.
