Dealey Plaza on the side of the Grassy Knoll

Dallas, Texas

In this image, our guide is standing atop The 4-foot (1.2 m) concrete abutment extending from the John Neely Bryan concrete peristyle on the grassy knoll facing Elm Street.
This is where Abraham Zapruder was standing when he shot his now famous footage of the JFK assassination.
In the distance you can see the the peristyles in the previous photos and how they are separated by Main Street.
The Old Red Courthouse can also be seen at the corner of Main and Houston Streets.
JFK's motorcade came down Main Street past the courthouse, turned right on Houston St and then left on Elm street and was shot on this stretch of Elm Street which is just down from the Texas Schoolbook Depository.

the almost jaunty figure of the guide brings a surreal air to the notorious scene...there is an eerie sense of peace at work too..
