Established on March 14, 2009 (Saturday) during the formal introduction of the group via our joint "The Wonders of Nature" Art and Photo Exhibit
at the Museo Valenzuela with the Ramon Magsaysay Camera Club, Inc. https://pbase.com/carinoza/pj_rmcci_nature_exhibit_2009

The club was initially formed to serve the people and land of Valenzuela and to show the world
through our photos and blog that Valenzuela is a beautiful and vibrant city inside and out - as our advocacy.

DocJen = Dr. Pío Valenzuela. Re: both are doctors in their respective fields. Dr. Pío Valenzuela was the undercover agent (a la James Bond?)
prior to the outbreak of the Philippine Revolution against the unjust colonial rule of Spain way back in the 1890's;

Jay = Andres Bonifacio. Re: the aggressive marketer "sugod mga kapatid!" type because of his strong love for country; and

Cariñoza = Emilio Jacinto. Re: the 'brains'* (hu? wat dat? hehehe) / journalist / P.R.O. of the group. :-p

Honorary member: the Hon. Mayor Sherwin T. Gatchalian. As a college student in the early 90's he was a photography enthusiast who even
developed his own pictures. Nowadays as a hardworking public servant he neither has the time nor opportunity to pursue his hobby.

* ... not to be confused with Apolinario Mabini - a.k.a the "sublime paralytic" - who was also considered as the
"Brains of the Revolution" as compared to Emilio Jacinto who became known as the "Brains of the Katipunan" - FYI.

NEWS AND PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES FOR 2009:

July 11, 2009: 140th birth anniversary of Dr. Pio Valenzuela.

- Flag raising ceremony at the City Hall Complex, 8:00am.
- The Dr. Pío Valenzuela story as told via a mixed song, dance and skit number as performed by the
Teatro Kalasag of Valenzuela City. SM Supercenter Valenzuela at 4:30-6:30 pm.
- Gawad Pío Valenzuela Awards at the Valenzuela Auditorium, 5:00 pm

July 1, 2009:

MUSEO VALENZUELA: "Vibrant Valenzuela" open gallery exhibit on the sights and sounds of Valenzuela City. From July 1, 2009 onwards.
SM SUPERCENTER VALENZUELA: "Dr. Pío Valenzuela Exhibit" on life and times of Dr. Pío Valenzuela featuring old and new photographs with
personal and historical memorablia. This is an extension of the resident exhibit at the Museo Valenzuela indoor gallery. From July 1-11, 2009.
