Harold of no fixed address, Union Station
I was wandering about the front of Union Station looking for a fresh photo after work. I looked like a lost tourist and Harold offered to help me. We chatted. He pointed out his "bed" by the Columbus Fountain and let me know that he preferred it to the shelters. I acknowledged that all the homeless people I know agree with him. We talked about where I work, what's up with the homeless (crazy, alcoholics and drug adddicts). Eventually we came to his desire to help me and my need for an interesting and fresh (at least for me) photo and he suggested something that a woman had taken earlier--reflections, flags, the Capitol. I've done enough of those for now. Then he proposed a crazy looking homeless woman. She scared me. So I proposed his portrait and we walked over to the edge of one of the smaller archways. This was my first shot. The second was a mistake on the shutter button and the third an overexposure mistake. I've cropped this a little tighter because I couldn't get closer without changing the perspective I wanted.
