Guimarães

Guimarães is one of the most beautiful historic cities in northern Portugal in the Braga district. Alfonso I, the first king of Portugal, is said to have been born here,
which is why it was the country's first capital and is considered the "cradle of the nation". Guimarães was European Capital of Culture in 2012.
