European Capital of Culture 2012

Guimarăes in Portugal and Maribor in Slovenia were the European Capitals of Culture 2012. Cultural events ranging from opera performances to modern dance, classical music and pop concerts were expected to put the two cities in the spotlight across Europe in the coming months and attract tourists and investment.
