A cotton mouth water moccason remains found a trail near the cypress wetlands. The snake was missing a head. What the best guess is that an Owl or a Hawk captured the snake.....bite or pinched of the snake's head and while trying to fly off with it dropped it on the trail. The "cotton mouth" was a young one and not more that about two feet long. You never know what "wonders" you can observe quietly and alertly walking through out the Refuge.
