Tango in Taipei

Generally, finding tango venues in the enormous megalopoli of Asia, such as Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing and Taipei, are far too daunting for a non-native speaker like myself, visiting for only a few short days or weeks. Taipei would have been no exception, except for a local friend who was able to use her GPS, and call the venue, to eventually search out Cafe Fortress, an elegant and cozy cafe-restaurant housed inside a grand old opera house in a section of the city of which I had no idea where it was. But one will find excellent male and female dancers there, irregardless of whether they tell you they've only been dancing a few months.
