My older son, Mitch, was born in February 1969, about a year after my father (after whom he is named) died. My mother, who was still living in New York at the time, came to see him in early March when he was just a couple of weeks old. She saw him and his brother Ken, who was born several years later, frequently, got to know them well, and loved them both dearly.
