As she did in Chicago and Florida, my mother took a job as a clerk in a bank. She enjoyed the work, was good at what she did, and (as this picture shows) had many friends among her co-workers. I’m not sure what the occasion was, but they apparently toasting it. Perhaps my mother was getting a promotion.
