Throughout her life, my mother enjoyed traveling. As a widow, with my sister and me grown and out of the house, she took advantage of her freedom and took several long trips, touring Italy with my sister Judy, returning to Israel to visit Judy who lived there for several years, and visiting Greece and Turkey, Ecuador and Peru, the United Kingdom, and Mexico. This photo was apparently taken during her trip to Mexico, where she was clearly enjoying herself (and probably using her facility in Spanish, which she retained throughout her life after her years in Cuba).
