This is a close-up of one of the apartment buildings in Via Errico Petrella, which assiduous viewers might recall from previous images runs along the back of a block which is dedicated to local gardens.
These windows will in fact look out over those gardens.
But is not quite the same as having your own patch of lawn, your own gardens to tend and maintain and grow.
Still, some residents are adept at improvising. In this case, the resident has created a miniature garden on the tiny balcony beyond their windows.
There is something unmistakably European, and possibly specifically Italian about such an arrangement.
This was originally a conventional landscape image, but I had cropped it into a square for another website. I think it looks better than the original ratio, so I've decided to stick with the square image for this gallery as well.
