Via Errico Petrella, Milano, Lombardia, Italia

This one took me a little bit of research. I could not for the life of me find a building like this on Google Street View. Because the photo had been taken only seconds after the previous one, I assume that I must've still been on the Via Marcello Benedetto. And, indeed, I was... but this building wasn't. It is in fact on the Via Errico Petrella, which is the street that runs behind the gardens that I've mentioned in previous shots. I would have been standing on the Via Marcello Benedetto, using one of the trees in the gardens as a foreground, and shooting across the street to this building. (It didn't help that clearly I was there when we were well into autumn, while all of the Google street views were done in summer when all of the trees in the garden were luscious in green.)

One of the things that threw me (and I'm not sure whether this will be visible in the gallery sized image) is a sign in the shop on the lower left reading "Panetteria Le Delizie del Fornaio". (Delights or pleasures of the oven, roughly translated. A panetteria is a bakery.)

I was obviously looking for that sign, but as has been the case with a number of places that we've seen now, what was there in 2016 isn't necessarily there in 2023.

The panetteria is still shown in Street View in June 2019. By September 2020, most of a year into the pandemic, the entrance that we see here had a sign reading "K2 Risolatrice Artigianale", which indicates a cobbler, basically; someone who specialises in handcrafted repairs of shoes. I can't find any information on that business. However there were in fact 2 entrances to the panetteria, with the 2nd one being around the corner from this shot (on the left) on the Via Franchino Gaffurio. That one still existed, and there seemed to be breadmaking supplies stacked up in the window. When the Google wagon drove past in August 2022, the situation was the same but the shutters had been pulled down on the entrance around the corner as well, so there is no way of telling whether they are still open or not.

Why not check Google? I did, but the results were inconclusive. There is no website that I can see. Google still shows the business as being open, but there are only 2 reviews (one of which is one star, one of which is five-star giving them an average of 3/5) and the 2nd review shows photographs of the bag that goods were bought in which makes no mention of the address of this particular bakery. (The name itself is a very common one, and there are several businesses going by that name in Milano.)

Hopefully it is still open, even if it is only half of its former size.
