Corso Buenos Aires is a busy street, and not one that I would consider it safe to cycle on. Although others do, as we will see in later photos. Up here on the Via Marcello Benedetto, on the other hand, there may be a lot of cars (in some parts of the streets, an awful lot of cars), but they are all parked.
Consequently, it is safe for la signora to go riding off to the shops, to fill her basket with goodies, and to cycle back without any protective gear at all (which would be illegal in Australia, but a disturbing number of cyclists in the Illawarra still do it).
The place that she's riding past is called Frijenno Magnanno. The website is under maintenance at the moment, but from what I can tell it is a gourmet food and wine bar which looks rather interesting, but certainly wasn't available at 7:34 in the morning. It looks like it might be an interesting place to try should I find myself back in that neighbourhood.
The logo on the building reads "Nun scurdammoce o passato", which I believe means "let's not forget the past". However it's not Italian, but probably Lombardian dialect... which I do not speak (I can't even speak my native Lazian dialect other than "daje Roma"), but I can still get the gist of in a simple sentence like this.
