Piazza San Marco, Venezia, Italia (Venice, Italy)
The Doge's Palace, or Palazzo Ducale, was described in image 015978; it (in some form or another) was the home of the city's ruler for hundreds of years.
Although it has been rebuilt or refurbished many times in the course of the centuries (meaning that it's hard to tell how old any individual part of this may be)... it's still interesting to contemplate exactly how many times late afternoon light has lit up the building, and how the world has changed from the first time it did.
Of course, that may just be me being melancholy because I'm posting this on New Year's Day of 2018 so it is no longer the case that I was in Venice "last year". By the end of this week, the sun will have set on this palace 500 times since I was there.
