The first hints of night are starting to creep into the sky over the belltower of St Mark's, but the tourists are still plentiful; for many the best part of the day is about to begin.

I took two shots from this position; in the second I moved a little to remove the tourist shop and its abundance of hats from the frame. But to be honest, I think that leaving it in does more justice to the atmosphere.
