Europe has been at peace (relatively) in living memory for most people. However it's easy to forget that for literally hundreds of years wars both big and small raged back and forth across the landscape. As a consequence of this, a lot of towns were built high up to provide some level of defence against attack. Here we see yet another one.
I would try to identify it, but I have spent far too much time in Street View as it is so unless someone desperately needs to know, I'm just going to let this one slide.
Contrary to appearances, it was not particularly windy on the day that we made this trip. However I suspect that the tree on the right has been hit by regular winds which run from left to right, and has just decided to go with it.
