There is agriculture in the hills surrounding the rail line; predominantly vines as far as I can see, but a few other things as well. Not so much here, though. Which makes me wonder why on earth houses like these are sitting up in the hills with almost no road access. Certainly they would represent a place to get away from it all, especially during winter I imagine. Other than that, I'm not sure about the appeal of such isolation, especially in the depths of winter.
Probably makes it easier to keep up with your PBase posting, though.
