Heading north from Lecco, we get our first glimpse of Lake Como. Had I been George Clooney, I would have been able to afford to live here some of the time. I'm not, therefore I can't. Both the rail line and the motorways run alongside the lake giving an excellent view of it and some of the mountainous terrain on the far side. I would like to say that I framed this picture perfectly to use the motorway overpass to divide the picture neatly into thirds, but the truth is, of course, there was a little bit of "spray and pray" involved. The forward visibility from the train wasn't the greatest so you really had no idea about what was coming up on you most of the time.
I really do want to see Lake Como up close and personal eventually.
It will be easier if I get some movie contracts or if Nespresso decides to hire me as their spokesman, but it's probably not wise to make that my plan A.
