As we can see here, Milano Centrale station was designed in the "marble monolith" style. It would have been nice to take some time just to explore it, though on the first day that we arrived I had to spend too much time just looking for the place to buy the travel passes to really take it in. And of course now I had to buy our tickets to Tirano and get back for breakfast. In fact, I knew that I was making good time and had no problems in that regard. However I remember that when I glanced at the clock at the end of the hall it occurred to me that this was the last time that I would be seeing the morning in Italy for (most likely) a couple of years.
Sometimes I'm just tempted to shove a few clothes in my backpack, buy a ticket online and just head for the airport. Unfortunately life and employment are not that forgiving. Neither are bank balances.
