Cecconi's has a bar area and a restaurant area. The bar area is a little more casual and does breakfast. The restaurant has immaculate décor and fittings, and sits downstairs just below road level so you see the traffic go by above you, albeit muted.
The food is excellent. The ragu was suuuu-poib, the mixture of lemon, mandarin and another sorbet / gelato combination brilliantly refreshing. We dined there on the Thursday before going to see The Lion King on stage, and were very happy to have had this as one of the recommended places to dine.
But if you baulk at the restaurant prices (which are not excessive, but at the higher end of the range with mains in the mid 40's) it would be still worth visiting the cellar bar. This is a very nice restaurant, with very good service.
