This is where the wreck took place. The Loch Ard was swept into the far side of the island and foundered shortly thereafter. The entrance to the gorge seen in image 19498 is to my right. It seems so close, yet so far from safety. You can't see anything of the wreck itself; aside from having occurred on the far side of the island it's underwater.
