This miniature village also made a brief appearance in my original Day and A Bit In Bleak City gallery. It was donated to the city of Melbourne by the people of Lambeth England in appreciation of the gifts of food that Victoria dispatched during the food shortages following World War II.
I suspect that the village has seen better days; a lot of the buildings have a caking of dirt and grime on them (very visible in the church in the foreground) and it appears that the village once had a water feature running through it emulating a river, though that's long since been turned off. However it's clearly not completely neglected; I would imagine that the miniature trees in the grounds, for instance, would take some maintenance work.
As I noted in the earlier gallery, the village is "behind bars" so shots can only be taken from a distance.
