I did some more work today on my Aquatint etching "Four Steps to Heaven".
The proof print which I then made was perhaps a little "over wiped" and the blacks are therefore weak,
but I'm concentrating my work just now on the sun sneaking through the stained glass windows onto
these pulpit steps. The black shadows will happen easily, later.
The pulpit steps which I have drawn are actually in a very old church, St. James, Santee, now only used
once or twice a year, on the now disused "Kings Highway" North of Charleston, South Carolina. The parish
dates from 1706, and in the early years served the Huguenot settlers, with French as the service language.
