Lists & Locations
The information on these sites is not always complete or 100% accurate. If you're planning a Covered Bridge expedition, try to verify the data from at least two sources. Printed maps that include locations of covered bridges are useful too -- I like the Delorme "Atlas & Gazetteer" state maps -- they include symbols for the locations of covered bridges. Also check the Visitors' Centers run by many states, Pennsylvania in particular has an excellent Covered Bridge book, listing the names and locations of all of their bridges.

My GPS coordinates
I use three sources for the GPS coordinates in my covered bridge galleries: actual waypoints taken with my GPS, data taken from the Garmin "Map Source" GPS mapping program, and data found on other sites. Most of the newer galleries use actual waypoint data, but that may not correspond exactly to the bridge, in many cases it's where I parked. I believe the data to be accurate, please let me know if you find an error.

Yahoo Maps
During 2006, the interface to Yahoo Maps changed slightly, and this affected most of my older map links.  The reliability of those links is suspect, I'm afraid, but the pbase map links should all be very close -- in many cases the bridge is plainly visible in the satellite view.  If you find any errors, please let me know.

I neglected to keep the list of updates updated during 2008.  There are now 206 bridges in 12 states.  Recent updates include reshoots of bridges in Bucks County PA, the rebuild Mood's bridge in Bucks, and the Devil's Hopyard bridge in CT.

 April 2009

Added 4 bridges in Pennsylvania:  Pine Grove (38-15-22 / 38-36-41) in Chester & Lancaster Counties, White Rock Forge (38-36-18) in Lancaster County, Jackson Sawmill (38-36-33) in Lancaster County, and Speakman #1  (38-15-05) in Chester County.

Total Bridges now 210 in 12 states.

July 2009

Added numerous bridges in western PA:  11 in Bedford County, 10 in Somerset County, 4 in Washington County and 1 in Westmoreland County.

January 2010

Added 6 bridges in Pennsylvania:  Zimmerman (38-54-01) and Rock (38-54-01) in Schuylkill County, Everhart (38-22-05) in Dauphin County, Dellville (38-50-16), Fleisher (38-50-17) and Clay / Wahneta (38-50-18) in Perry County. Also Bartram aka Goshen CB 38-23-02 / 38-15-17 in Delaware & Chester Counties.

October 2010
