In Oregon

I was born in Oregon, a wonderful place. I've spent about a third of my life there and plan to head back when it's time for the long dirt nap. This gallery includes photos from the various periods I spent in Oregon. One thing I've learned while digitizing these old negatives is that Portland water is the best for processing film. The Bull Run reservoir is on the slopes of Mt. Hood, or more accurately, WyEast, and the water is pure. Tri-X souped in Bull Run is the best. Also, I have to say my technique for development was not bad. I never could print, but I was very meticulous in developing the film.

Was idly browsing & thought i'd google the kinks in portland & lo there were your pix.
ray davies in the reed locker room is there with..guy in white sweater..eric manzer..lead singer of reed college (& pdx band) moss.i was mgr & songwriter.members of moss,all reedies 'cept me,booked the kinks into reed.moss played kinks' 'til the end of the day,you're looking mfine,etc.we loved 'em.i live in la grande,or.M

Steve: I was looking at more photos from Reed College and spotted the Kinks promoter, Mark Madden, with a pogo stick. So you are correct. There must be a vibrant pogo stick scene out there that I'm unaware of.

Very interesting gallery James - I enjoyed looking. I've seen the Kinks twice and these are nostalgic shots. Your two handled prop on the Ray Davies shot looks like an early George Hansburg - Pogo Stick - the early models had a fork just like that!! That's my theory!! Vote
