No substitute for an airplane

San Francisco, California

While I was a member of the club I used to plan to climb the rigging of the bark Balclutha and shoot a picture of the club. But while working for a company which flew scenics off of San Francisco Bay I was able to talk the pilot into a fly-by of the club at 75 feet so I could get the shot. The plane was a DeHavilland Beaver on floats..."on final approach." Shooting out the window of a plane going 100 mph is not easy with a 300mm lens.

other sizes: small medium original auto
