Senator Murkowski talks fish with the crew of the fishing vessel Alsea. The Alsea is from Newport, Oregon, and the crew are Oregonians....Sen. Murkowski was in Unalaska for a meeting where she spoke in favor of ratification of the Law of the Sea Treaty. I sent emails to three west coast senators: Boxer, Feinstein, and Ron Wyden of Oregon, asking where they stand on the Law of the Sea Treaty. All three declined to comment, as I was not a resident of their state. This despite the fact I'd identified myself as the editor of a newspaper. Yet here's Sen. Murkowski spending time with the crew of an Oregon fishing vessel. You can bet she's the only US Senator they'll ever get any face time with.
