I drove down to the point past the Dutch Harbor airport to check out the waves after the storm had passed and couldn't believe my eyes. A surfer! And another one on the beach, about to paddle out. This guy, a commercial fisherman, was wearing a heated wetsuit, but he said it's warm enough - around 46 - that a regular wetsuit would be just fine. The waves were pretty good. Best of all, it wasn't as crowded as the Wedge or maybe Pismo pier.
