The horses of Unalaska Island were released from a ranch which shut done some 15 years ago. Since then the animals have done well, roaming the grasslands which formerly fed the wooly mammoth. The horses are tame and like snacks. Here they are getting some take-out carrots, cabbage, and apples from a friendly visitor to their winter quarters near Summer's Bay.
