Another part of the garden
This part seems to be under construction, and uses plants native
to Australia as the main feature.

Close up of garden detail
Lovely to see the gardens so well maintained, and a big contrast to my last
visit. I got such a pleasant surprise this visit.

Scented borders
Lovely to see this swathe of colour edging the lawn

Labyrinth - side view
I recently read a book called "Wychwood - the making of one of the world's most magical gardens"
which featured a labyrinth made out of lawn cut at different heights... and seeing this
circuitous feature in the Urrbrae garden reminded me of that fabulous feature.
A view front on can be seen "Next" or here

One of many
Roses were everywhere mixed in with low growing annuals and perennials
This is a rose I don't know, and asking around we came up with the name
"Fashion" by Eugene S. Boerner, an American breeder, with a release date
of 1947. If anyone recognises this rose can they please tell me if this
is the right name? I was rather taken with it...
Update - definitely not "Fashion" so we're still trying to find the name!

Volunteer workers in action
When I parked my car I wondered why there were so many other cars, then
I discovered why - it was volunteer work day in the garden! I had
a lovely chat with a few of the people - I think they enjoyed having
a reason to have a break, though it was such a lovely balmy sunny day
for such a pleasant job.

On a sunny summer's day
Photo taken from the rose garden which was a delight to wander slowly through
today. There were some volunteer workers in the garden so I have included them
in some of the photos I took and will add them at a later date.
Older photos of Urrbrae
Photos taken in 2003. This series of photos are about a month too early for the roses, with the exception of Laevigata - which was looking quite spectacular.
