CLEMATIS viticella "Polish Spirit"
This clematis shares a large trellis and follows on after the climbing roses have finished flowering.
This is a clematis that suits our climate and seems very easy
to grow, I haven't done a thing to it and it has outlasted
other clematis that I have experimented with. This clematis is near another
trellis with similar coloured Veilchenblau trained on it, and that rose is still in bloom &
shares with a red clematis - see "next".

Clematis "Ernest Markham"
This one shares a trellis with the climbing rose "Veilchenblau" a pretty cluster rose with violet-pink flowers in spring.
As yet we haven't managed to get them to flower at the same time, but that will come (I hope).

C.montana "Elizabeth"
I'm pretty sure this is the name when we bought it many years ago. This one
grows up a trellis and into the fire-wheel tree alongside, so I believe I should have
had the long lens on when I took this photo. We have had a quick succession of
Clematis throughout the years, but this one has stood the test of time.
Sharing with a huge rambling rose called Rosa laevigata, or the Cherokee rose
and "Katie Pianto's Rose" which is similar in size to Laevigata with a flush of pink.

viticella 'Polish Spirit'.
Summer flowering, after the rose has finished blooming. Since taking this shot I have changed the rose. I'm now waiting to see if the clematis and the rose will bloom together.

Clematis montana sericea syn. C. spooneri in the morning sunshine
Only in its second year in the garden it's shaping up to be a great addition to the garden. We have it there to lace the climbing rose to the latticework on an archway and it does its job well.

This little clematis has bloomed in 36-C heat for the last couple of days
and barely shows signs today now the weather has cooled.
