Quite a tall grower, often has 2 or 3 blooms per spike.

Deep Purple Flag Iris
A couple of bulbs given to us many many years ago have multiplied to the point where we have dozens of them scattered here and there.
They flower well before the bearded group begin.
Best in original format if you have the time.

It was a good season for bearded iris because we had some
good late winter rains. These border sections of my rose garden.
