Yesteryear's efforts

In the "not-so-good" old days lifeboat crews would often resort to this- a black powder driven rocket to shoot a line to a wrecked ship. The mannequin wears gear from the 1880es. The painting in the background shows the backbone of yesteryear's rescue service- a trailered open rowboat
