This bridge will lift 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for all Great Lakes ore, grain and coal carriers and most pleasure boats with any height at all that want to traverse the ship channel in or out of the inner harbor. The channel is an interesting location that provides "almost" on deck closeness to the huge ships going in and out of the harbor.
