The Terracotta Army

Pit #1. Created around 210 BC to guard the tomb of Qin Shi Huang, China's first emperor, the underground army consists of more than 8,000 life-sized soldiers, along with horses, chariots, and military officers arranged in battle formation. Every warrior has unique facial features, hairstyles, armor, and expressions. One has to present in the excavation pit to truly appreciate the scale of this army and the tomb.
