Designed by the famed master architect Balthasar Neumann, the Grand Staircase (Treppenhaus) in Schloss Augustusburg is a masterpiece of German Rococo architecture. The dramatic space features intricate stucco work, marble columns, and a magnificent ceiling fresco by Carlo Carlone depicting the glory of the House of Wittelsbach.
