Sunset from my window. I could see Amak from my bedroom window, so I frequently caught a glimpse of her. The island mountain was so nearby that it could be seen from just about any point in the Cold Bay area. Grant Point was in the foreground. A light and the silhouette of a jeep on Grant Point indicated the location of a small research facility. I didn't know for sure what they were researching, but I was once told that they were trying to catch a pregnant seal. Why, I do not know.
