[ Vixen R200SS Astrograph Upgrade ... ]

This project started when I got a secondhand Wynne 3" corrector/focuser assembly for a very nice price.
It's the same focuser/corrector assembly as used on the Orion Optics (UK) AG Astrograph´s.
My plan is to upgrade my Vixen R200SS 8" newton astrograph to a "poor mans AG" :-)
The project includes installing a 90mm secondary and moving the primary mirror cell
several cm towards the secondary to compensate for the extended light path made by the 180mm long corrector.
A extra pair of parallax rings will be used to secure the focuser assembly (to prevent sag because of the weight).

Project progress

  1. Focuser assembly: Done
  2. Focuser Baseplate: Done
  3. Focus motor bracket: tbd
  4. Secondary mirror: waiting for parts..
  5. Primary mirror cell replacement: waiting for parts..

Please have a look...
