It's all too easy in our consumer society to forget that Christmas is the celebration of God's love for us. He loves us so much He sent His only Son, Jesus the Christ, to die for our sins. It's always comforting to know that whatever trials and tribulations we have in our lives He loves us so much that He willingly died for us. His love only allows our sufferings in order to draw out greater good. So we should rejoice in this season because it reminds us that we are loved beyond even our love for ourselves by our heavenly Father.
This was taken at St. John Cantius Church in Chicago. It's a very beautiful church. They have a museum of religious art in one of the bell towers.
