This family, originally from Kurdish territory in the Middle East, has been a fixture in the neighborhood for a long time. Their children go to school in the area, the oldest ones have moved out and gotten married, there are still six living at home. Often, the kids act as translators for the parents, whose knowledge of Flemish is not quite perfect. But the whole family is very hospitable, serving coffee, tea, biscuits and other snacks to the many visitors who ring their doorbell.
