Well, the shop crews have been busy.. In fact, there has been some actual measurable progress in recent weeks.

On this page you will find a few pix and a couple of links to albums of projects that have been happily gobbling up what little free time I seem to have.

Recent Releases

SP SD45T-2 9180: A rebuild/redetail of an Athearn SD45T-2 - now completed as of 9/01/2009!

SP U25BE 6800: A rebuild/redetail of a Bowser/Stewart U25B - now completed!

SP Tool/Motor Car Sheds: Gotta have these quintessential SP Common Standard wayside structures to give your layout or modules that unique Espee flavor!

N&W GP30 541: I've finished detailing up a N&W GP30 - photos of it here. Not too much of an accomplishment, but I'm happy she's basically complete as far as assembly and DCC is concerned.

ATSF GP40X 3806 - This first of my Athearn GP40X redetailing projects have also been completed, sans minor weathering.. Photos of the completed model yet to come. ATSF 3806 was released from the shops on 1/1/2008! It's nice to celebrate the beginning of the New Year with a finished locomotive!

What's Next?

Since the completion of the U25BE, the shops haven't been all that busy, now that the motive power superintendent has a new addition to his family. However, the super did manage to keep the shops open by working on SP 9180 - yet another redetail job and hopefully the first of a few SD45T-2s to follow. Next up is the pair of San Francisco Belt S2s. Alcos are just cool, and even cooler is that the real ones have just recently been restored and still are in revenue service. Most likely to follow is an SD40T-2 that managed to sneak its way toward the front of the workbench. Or maybe the crews will revisit those past projects still languishing in the dark recesses of the shop complex..
