Santa Fe GP40X 3806
This first of my Athearn GP40X redetailing projects have also been completed, sans minor weathering.. Photos of the completed model are yet to come.
ATSF 3806 was released from the shops on 1/1/2008! It's nice to celebrate the beginning of the New Year with a finished locomotive!

Fiddling on the Roof : Replacing the conduit on the roof of an Athearn RTR ATSF GP40X
3-piece coupler cut lever installed with new Details West train line and MU hoses as well.
Digitrax DH163 decoder installed, with a LM317 voltage regulator for the beacon.
3806 still needs a small road number above the headlights, and reapplication of handrail stanchions, to name just two things.
The numberboards need changing too.
Front pilot with new 3-piece cut lever and Details West #155 plow and MU hoses.
AC and beacon and handrails need reinstallation, along with painting all the trim on the pilots.
