Macros, Light and Composition, Vancouver May 10, '11

I went back to the churchyard with the trees and moss, but this time intending to play only with macros!

I brought my Canon 1D Mk III and my Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro lens, but realized as I was setting up to get started that I had a while back taken off the quick release plate from my camera that attaches to the ballhead!

Rather than lug everything back I just said "to heck with it" and started shooting handheld.

The sun was shining nicely. I wanted to make use of the good light and play with various compositions using the narrow depth of field from shooting at macro-close distances.
