Tom,it is a moving tribute to all and many brought tears to my eyes, especially the chidren. Thank you again for keeping and sharing such a wonderful collection. Every Memorial Day I think of my good friends and classmates from the Citadel, Skip Murphy and Joe Missar who were killed in 1966, the year after we graduated. I love and appreciate all whom I served with in the 385th and 31st, especially you Tom. PMD

I saw an interview with the oldest Medal of Honor recipient (I think). Difficult to watch without shedding a tear. The country he and many others fought and died for does not exist anymore. Very sad.

Tom: For some reason, I never saw this before. My 10yr old grandson had been studying WWII this year and when we buried my mother, earlier this month, he walked around the cemetery and was fascinated by all of the military inspired headstones. I think he’ll be a trooper. Mike

Today we remember those who served in the Military and gave their lives so that we might enjoy the incredible place that we call America. John 15:13 tells us that "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." Hundreds of thousands of men and women over the course of our Country's existence have made the ultimate sacrifice, and for this I am eternally grateful. On this day of remembrance, please honor these heroes by remembering their sacrifice. Pray for their families so that they know that they are not alone and that we do appreciate all that they have sacrificed as well. As a veteran I am grateful for those who have made this sacrifice and pray that all of us will always remember what this day truly means. Many thanks to all of my friends who have also served. Have a happy and blessed Memorial Day! Jerry

I visit this gallery often. I am moved over and over again by the poignant photos in the gallery. Despite the sadness it conveys, I find it very comforting to walk around in old cemeteries.
