Black Swan Taking Off

The black swan is the symbol of
Western Australia.
We do not usually have them in this area but there
appear to be fifty at the pelican breeding reserve.
Please look at it in original size.

Hal said it all, Elaine - wonderful image. Getting an image like this takes time, patience, and talent!

Dear Hal,
Thank you so uch for your kind words.
I spent quite some time trying to get a good shot. Thank goodness for digital!!
I would have gone through a lot of film trying to get this shot.
The black swans have only been in the broadwater for a few weeks. I was doing well then Glenn let Opal off the lead and she scared them all away. It took ages for them to come back over. I think they were expecting food from me.

This is wonderful and creative !
l've never seen a better photo of a swan taking off from water.
And the way you have it framed is superb.
A real prize-winner Elaine.
