Surprise Visitor

Spotting this wonderful
specimen of a
Giant Stick Insect
on my fly screen the other day.
I managed to get this shot of him before he
wandered off into the shrubbery.
I saw him (perhaps) about a year ago.
Nice to see he is still a member of our ec0-system.
He was about 25cms (10 inches) long.

Nikon D600
1/80s f/4.5 at 70.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Excellent detail. It has great camouflage for the bush but not a screen! Voted.

Excellent and good that this is an 'old friend' still around

Thanks so much Cindy, Terry and Sally.
I i not want to wait until he moved on
to a more "natural" background.
Just happy to have been him.

10 inches long! Wow. I have never seen anything like that (though I have seen small stick insects.) I'm glad that you were able to catch and share him (her).

What a good eye you have Elaine. I haven't seen one in years.
Very well taken.
