At the moment the jacarandas are in bloom
giving the land the most beautiful mauve

Thanks, Terry, I am trying to post photographs to contrast our two different areas. I grew up in Scotland until I was 15 so appreciate the differences.

Thanks everyone. I was actually sitting in the car waiting for Glenn to get off the train having been out taking a few pics in the rain, when I realized how beautiful it was. I know they are not indigenous but love the colour.

Very lovely, Elaine. Strangely we don't have them around here. Pretoria (South Africa) has hundreds of them lining the streets and has a Jacaranda Festival every Spring... Or used to have :(
